From Tym:

The 1930s pulp mag avenger’s apparel may have been inspired by Toulouse-Lautrec’s poster Ambassadeurs, Aristide Bruant (1892). The film commissioned definitive Shadow artist Michael Wm. Kaluta to consult, who also adapted it into comics form. The art pays homage to both the Bruant poster and Kaluta’s cover for The Shadow # 1 (1973).

Was the movie good? Well it didn’t age well, that’s for sure, but it was a nice attempt. Certainly the Deco set work was well done and a young Alec Baldwin does his campy best. Also I had a crush on Penelope Ann Miller, so that helped.
